Dolch Sight Word List

    This year, your child will be exposed to many words, including words from this list, as well as color words and number words and more!  As the children are introduced to these words in the books we read, through “Daily News,” and other class reading/writing activities, we add these to our Word Wall.   

    Your child will be bringing these words home on flash cards as they are mastered.  I will add 5-10 new words at a time.   Please review them with your child often and return the words daily so that we can practice them at school as well during our Buddy Time. 

     These words are called “sight words” because they are words that your child should be able to know without “sounding out.”  They should be able to read them just as soon as they are flashed in front of them. 

     As more students begin mastering these words, it becomes more difficult for me to keep up with them and to continue adding word cards regularly.  If this happens, and you would like to continue this practice at home, you can use the list below, or click here to print them from your computer.
