My name is Toni Thomas, and this will be my
thirteenth year
teaching at Washington County Elementary School - six years in
Kindergarten and five years in second grade. This will be
my second year teaching a multi-age class (2nd/3rd).
When I
was growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher. As a
matter of fact, I was in the second grade when I decided to be a
teacher! My
favorite thing to play when I was a little girl was
school! My two little brothers were my students
back then!
I have always loved learning new things and sharing what I've
learned. Maybe that is why I love teaching! It is hard to imagine doing anything else. I
love seeing the progress the children make in just one year. I think this
profession has to be one of the most rewarding of them
all!
I graduated from Marion County High School in 1987. I earned my
Associate's degree at St. Catharine College, and went on to graduate from
Campbellsville University with a Bachelor's in K-4 Elementary
Education. In 2003, I completed my Master's in Instructional
Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.

My husband, David, and our sons, Jarred and Ben.Y
I have been
married for eighteen years to a very wonderful husband,
David. We live in rural Marion County with our two sons, Ben, 16,
and Jarred, 12, three beagle hounds, Gus, Sonny, and Lily, and our cats,
Twitch, Peanut, Smokey, and Bo-dazzle.
When I'm not
teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and "playing" on the computer
finding new ideas to use in our classroom!
If you need to
contact me, you can call the school at 336-5490 and leave a message, or
email me. (I'll probably be on the computer anyway!)
